About Gusto Etna
Sicilian pistachio pesto, ready in minutes
Gusto Etna is a Sicilian brand of pistachio creams, nuts and sweets. Their pistachio pesto is the savory side of the range: a thick, nutty pesto made with just pistachios, sunflower oil and salt, the way pistachio is used in Sicilian home cooking. No cheese, no basil, just pistachio.
Toss it with hot pasta and a splash of pasta water for a silky green sauce. Busiata, the twisted pasta from western Sicily, is the classic match. Spread it on mortadella and burrata sandwiches, crostini and pizza, or spoon it over grilled chicken, shrimp and roasted vegetables.

Good to know
How much pesto do I need for pasta?
One 190 g jar dresses about 1 lb (450 g) of pasta. Toss with the hot pasta off the heat and add a little pasta water to make it silky. For single portions, start with 1–2 tablespoons.
Is it sweet or savory?
Savory. It is a pesto for pasta, sandwiches and main dishes. For a sweet pistachio spread, see our 35% pistachio cream.
How do I make a mortadella and pistachio sandwich or pizza?
Spread the pesto on warm bread or a baked pizza base, add thin slices of mortadella, burrata and arugula, and finish with chopped pistachios.
What are the ingredients? Does it have cheese?
Only four: pistachios 48%, Sicilian pistachios 12%, sunflower oil and salt. There is no cheese, dairy or basil. The label says gluten free. Contains tree nuts (pistachios).
Which pasta goes best with it?
Busiata, the twisted Sicilian pasta that holds the sauce well. Try Gusto Etna Sicilian busiata or pistachio busiata.
How should I store it?
Keep the jar in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.
