About Gusto Etna
Raw pistachio kernels for your kitchen
Gusto Etna, a Sicilian pistachio brand, packs these Turkish pistachios in Italy. They are raw, shelled and unsalted, with the small green and purple kernels that bakers love for baklava and Mediterranean sweets.
Use them whole on cakes and pastries, chop them for gelato and Greek yogurt, grind them into pistachio flour or paste, or roast and season them yourself. Customers also use them for pistachio-crusted salmon, salads and pasta.
Ingredients
Pistachios 100%. Contains tree nuts (pistachios).
Storage
Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Reseal after opening; for long storage, keep a portion in the freezer.
Ideal for
Baklava & pastry
Whole or chopped for baklava, cakes and cookies.
Pistachio crust
Crush and coat salmon, chicken or lamb.
Pasta & salads
Toast and sprinkle over pasta and salads.
Flour & paste
Grind into pistachio flour or homemade paste.
Good to know
Are they raw or roasted? Salted?
Raw and unsalted, so you control the roasting and seasoning.
Are they good for baklava?
Yes. Customers buy them for baklava and other Mediterranean sweets: the kernels are small, green and full of flavor.
Can I make pistachio flour or paste with them?
Yes. Pulse them in a food processor for flour, or keep blending for paste. If you prefer it ready-made, see our pistachio flour and 100% pistachio paste.
How do I keep a 1 kg bag fresh?
The bag is vacuum-packed. After opening, reseal it and keep it in a cool, dry place, or freeze a portion to keep it fresh longer.
Looking for Sicilian pistachios?
These are from Turkey. For Sicilian pistachios from Bronte, see our roasted Bronte pistachios (250 g).
Is there volume pricing?
Yes: 12% off from 4 bags, 17% off from 24 and 25% off from 80.
From our kitchen
Pistachio-crusted salmon
Pulse a handful of raw pistachios until coarse. Brush salmon fillets with a little mustard or olive oil, press the pistachios on top and bake until the fish is just cooked and the crust is golden.
